Angus Paul Wines Hespers 2021

Deep amber coloured with upfront aromas of intensely concentrated dried apricot, wet hay and freshly peeled oranges.

The palate is lusciously sweet without being clawing thanks to the searing, perfectly integrated, acidity which imparts an almost lightness to the very viscous palate. The flavours carry through beautifully from the nose with the addition of a hint of herbal honey in the never-ending finish.

This is a very good wine, verging on outstanding, but still too young to drink. With time the flavours will develop more complexity and will continue doing so for many decades to come.

Cellar this wine for another five years before serving rich umami dishes like duck liver parfait, cured meats, blue cheeses or your favourite caramel-based dessert.
