VINEYARD:
This bushvine vineyard is located in Wellington and was planted in 2007. Clay soil with pockets of shale and schist delivers a wine with fine, chalky tannins and beautiful aromas with a long finish.
VINIFICATION:
Grapes were picked by hand on 3rd March and kept in cold storage overnight. 90% whole bunch, spontaneous fermentation. Pressed after 8 days on the skins. Aged in neutral 500L and 300L barrels for 7 months. Lightly filtered prior to bottling.
TASTING NOTES:
Lighter style Grenache. Opulent berries, fresh herbs, confected red fruit and floral aromas followed by a delicate mouthfeel, chalky tannins and a lingering finish.
